Tuzla

Tuzla is the third-largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina and one of the country's oldest settlements. Its history has been closely connected with salt production for thousands of years, giving the city its name, which comes from the Turkish word for "salt."

Today, Tuzla is known for its unique Pannonian Salt Lakes, the only salt lakes of their kind in Europe, located in the heart of the city. Visitors also enjoy the old town, Freedom Square (Trg slobode), museums, cultural events and a lively atmosphere created by its large student population.
