Počitelj is one of the best-preserved medieval and Ottoman towns in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Perched on a hillside above the emerald Neretva River, about 30 kilometres south of Mostar, it is renowned for its unique stone architecture and breathtaking views.
The historic walled town features a medieval fortress, the Šišman Ibrahim Pasha Mosque, the Clock Tower and narrow cobblestone streets that create the atmosphere of an open-air museum. Počitelj is also home to one of Southeast Europe's oldest international artists' colonies.
Today, Počitelj is one of the country's most visited cultural landmarks and is included on UNESCO's Tentative List of World Heritage Sites.
